MSU Federal Credit Union ranks 2 of 333 lenders in Lansing-East Lansing and grew in line with similar credit unions in 2025, with a mix weighted toward home-improvement and other-purpose loans.
It ranks behind The Dart Bank in Lansing-East Lansing, where its share fell to 8.8% from 9.9%. One possibility is that more of its lending went beyond Lansing: its Traverse City share rose to 1.4% from 1.2%, and it entered Salem, Bloomington and Jefferson City in 2025.
Originations rose 11% to 2,748, near the middle of similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans), whose typical growth was 9%, and close to the whole market's 10%. Volume remains below its 4,757 of 2021.
