Pinnacle Bank, a Nebraska bank, grew 24% in 2025, about twice as fast as similar banks, and gained share in Lincoln and Grand Island, where it ranks second and first.
Growing faster than similar banks
Originations rose 24% to 3,183, higher than about seven in ten similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans), whose typical growth was 11%; the whole market grew 10%. The bank is still below the 4,370 loans it made in 2020.
Gaining at home, slipping in Omaha
Its share of Lincoln lending rose from 7.9% to 9.5%, second of 249 lenders, and in Grand Island from 10.2% to 12.8%, first of 112. In Omaha, its largest market, it ranks 3 of 417, but its share fell from 4.9% to 3.8%. The Omaha fall could reflect a crowded market led by national lenders, or growth put into Lincoln and Grand Island.
Few loans in LMI and majority-minority areas
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) tracts took 9.8% of its loans against a typical 16.8%, among the lowest few of similar lenders, and majority-minority tracts 3.8% against 10.2%. Its share of LMI borrowers, 28.3%, is near the middle. These patterns could reflect a footprint centred on Nebraska, with non-metro Nebraska among its largest markets.
Smaller loans, fewer applications turned down
Its typical loan was $165,000 against $215,000 at similar lenders. It turned down 2.8% of first-lien home-purchase applications on owner-occupied homes, lower than more than four in five similar lenders (typical 6.8%), and 10.0% of refinance applications, against 18.4%.
