Northwest Bank, a Pennsylvania savings institution, grew faster than any similar lender in 2025, making many small loans to low- and moderate-income borrowers in Pennsylvania and Buffalo.
Originations rose 29% to 4,158, the highest growth among similar lenders (savings institutions making between half and twice as many loans), whose typical growth was 16%; the whole market grew 10%. The 2025 mergers with Jersey Shore State Bank and Luzerne Bank may account for part of it. It is still below 10,526 in 2020.

It ranks 5 of 224 in Erie with an unchanged 4.9% share and 9 of 267 in Buffalo, up to 3.0% from 2.7%. Higher-priced loans (a rate well above the average for similar loans) were 0.4%, against 1.1%.
