Landmark Credit Union is the leading mortgage lender in Milwaukee-Waukesha, WI, ranked 1 of 510, with a book weighted toward home improvement and refinancing rather than home purchase.
Its Milwaukee share rose to 8.1% from 7.9%, ahead of Summit Credit Union and UW Credit Union, and it has lent there since before 1990. In Racine-Mount Pleasant its share rose 1.1 points to 6.1%, third of 285. In Madison it fell 0.5 points to 1.0%, where Summit Credit Union ($867.5M) and UW Credit Union ($856.6M) lead; strong local competitors or less focus outside the Milwaukee area could explain this.
Home improvement made up 37.5% of its loans, refinancing 28.0% and purchase 22.6%. Every loan was conventional, with no government-backed lending, and its typical loan, $105,000, matched that of similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans).
