Dutch Point Credit Union, a Connecticut credit union, lends to people who already own their homes: it made no purchase loans in 2025, and most of its 139 loans were small home-improvement and other-purpose loans.
Other-purpose loans made up 56.8% of its lending, home improvement 35.3% and refinances 7.9%. Its typical loan was $65,000, the same as a year earlier and five years earlier, against $105,000 at similar lenders, here credit unions making between half and twice as many loans. Every loan was conventional, with no jumbo or manufactured-home lending.

Its largest market is Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford, where it has lent since 1992 and ranked 124 of 464 lenders. Liberty Bank leads there. Its share slipped from 0.2% to 0.1% as its loan count fell.
