A short record
The bank was established in 2018 as CommerceOne Bank and first reported its home lending in 2023. It moved its head office to Alabama in 2025. Its record is too short, and its lending too small, to say much about its long-run course.

Our analysis, 2025
CommerceOne Bank is a young bank whose home lending has fallen each year since it first reported in 2023, to 18 loans in 2025, even as it spread into new markets.
The bank was established in 2018 as CommerceOne Bank and first reported its home lending in 2023. It moved its head office to Alabama in 2025. Its record is too short, and its lending too small, to say much about its long-run course.
It made 35 loans in 2023, 29 in 2024 and 18 in 2025. The latest fall, 38%, was steeper than at similar lenders, state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans, whose lending fell 15%. The whole market grew 10%.
Those 18 loans were scattered across 14 counties in four states, Georgia most of all. In 2025 it first lent in non-metro Mississippi, non-metro Alabama, Daphne-Fairhope-Foley and Auburn-Opelika. Nowhere does it hold a meaningful share; in Birmingham, its home city, it ranks 252nd of 523 lenders.
Most of its loans, 77.8%, financed a purchase, and all were conventional. Its typical loan, $240,000, was larger than similar banks' $177,500. With so few loans, these shares and sizes can swing widely from year to year.
Similar lenders: same lender type, originations between half and twice the lender's in the data year. Written from the 2025 HMDA data and checked figure by figure against it.

Originated means the loan was made: applications denied, withdrawn or not accepted are not counted. Years with no HMDA report from this lender are left out: since 2020 a bank making fewer than 100 closed-end loans a year need not report. CommerceOne Bank took 18 applications in 2025.
