Wall Street Mortgage Bankers is a big-loan lender: its typical loan, $825,000, is more than twice that of similar lenders, and almost a quarter of its loans are jumbo, larger than the conforming limit.
Similar lenders are independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans. Its typical loan is larger than at almost all of them. Jumbo loans made up 22.7% of its lending, against 0.9% at the typical peer. In 2020 the jumbo share was 6.6%.

Its loan sizes offer one possible reason: a lender whose typical loan is $825,000 may lend mostly to higher earners. Its share of loans in majority-minority neighborhoods, 32.9%, is above the peer figure of 25.1%.
It made 417 loans in 2025, up 7% on the year, faster than the typical peer's 2% but slower than the market's 10%. That is about a third of the 1,198 it made in 2020. It has lent in the New York area since 1994 and ranks 125 of 802 lenders there. In 2025 it made its first loans in Colorado Springs, Flagstaff and Yuba City.
