A sharp contraction
Its loans fell from 55 to 30 in 2025, while similar lenders, meaning banks of the same type making between half and twice as many loans, made 2% fewer. The bigger change came earlier: 590 loans in 2020 and 611 in 2021, then 141 in 2022. One possible reason is that it no longer makes government-backed loans: five years ago 13.1% of its loans were insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), and now all are conventional. The data do not say whether the drop was its own choice.
