Not a typical credit union
Loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) made up 16.1% of its lending in 2025, and loans guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) 5.4%. The typical similar lender, a credit union making between half and twice as many loans, made none of either. Its typical loan was $195,000, against $105,000, larger than at nearly nine in ten peers.
