Lending where incomes are modest
In 2025, 39.6% of its loans went to low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers, against 24.8% at similar lenders, savings institutions making between half and twice as many loans. That is higher than at nearly nine in ten of them. In LMI neighborhoods the figure was 26.5%, against 16.9%, and up from 20.9% in 2020. Such numbers count for a thrift examined under the Community Reinvestment Act.
