A government lender
Of its loans, 70.9% were insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), against 18.5% at similar lenders: independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans. Another 13.1% were guaranteed by the Department of Agriculture's Rural Housing Service (RHS), which the typical peer did not use at all. Only 10.5% were conventional. Every loan was for a home purchase.
