Fixing homes, not buying them
Home improvement made up 50.8% of its loans and other purposes 28.6%; purchases were only 9.7%. That mix may explain its small loans. Its typical loan was $55,000, about half the $105,000 of similar lenders, credit unions making between half and twice as many loans, and smaller than at nearly all of them.
