A government-backed lender among banks
Loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) made up 13.6% of its lending, against 0.0% at similar lenders (national banks making between half and twice as many loans) and up from 8.0% in 2024. That is more than at all but a few of them. Loans guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs and by the Department of Agriculture's Rural Housing Service add 1.7% each. Only 83.0% of its loans were conventional, against 99.7% at peers.
