A jump in small loans
It made 444 loans, up from 253 in 2024, while the typical similar lender (savings institutions making between half and twice as many loans) grew 4%. Its typical loan fell from $145,000 to $105,000, so the growth came in small loans. Half its loans, 50.9%, were for purposes other than buying, refinancing or improving a home. Whether that reflects a new product or a change in how it reports loans, the figures do not say.
