Residential Mortgage is the biggest home lender in Anchorage, with 16.5% of the market, and a lender to veterans far more than other non-banks of its size.
The lender has reported in Anchorage since 1998 and ranks first of 168 lenders there. Its share slipped from 17.6% to 16.5%; that may mean rivals grew faster in the city, or that more of its own growth came elsewhere, since it now lends in 16 states. It ranks second in the rest of Alaska and fifth in Fairbanks.
VA loans (guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs) made up 14.1% of its lending, against 2.7% at the typical similar lender, meaning non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans. That is higher than at almost all of its 20 peers. Nearly nine loans in ten financed a purchase.

It made 4,575 loans in 2020 and 1,377 in 2023. Since then it has grown two years running, by 8% in 2025, a little slower than the 12% of its peers and the 10% of the whole market.
