Our analysis, 2025
Premier Mortgage Services is a small Pueblo lender that has reported since 1991 and still ranks among the top dozen in its home market, though its lending shrank in 2025.
It lends in one state, two metros and five counties. In Pueblo it ranks 11 of 264 lenders with 1.7% of the market. In Denver its share rounds to nothing.
Loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) made up 40.3% of its lending, against 7.9% at similar lenders (independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans). Another 9.0% were guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Its FHA share is higher than at almost nine in ten of them. Purchases were 73.1% of its loans.
Loans fell 23% to 67, while similar lenders fell 2% and the whole market grew 10%. Its share of Pueblo slipped from 2.0% to 1.7%, in step with its own smaller output. The longer decline is steeper: it made 376 loans in 2020 and 210 in 2018. For a firm making 67 loans, the loss of a loan officer or two, or of a referral source, could explain much of the fall; the record does not say which.
Its typical rate was 6.38%, against 6.62% at similar lenders, lower than at about three-quarters of them. Its typical loan, $285,000, was close to theirs.
Similar lenders: same lender type, originations between half and twice the lender's in the data year. Written from the 2025 HMDA data and checked figure by figure against it.
