Lending in poorer areas
Of its 30 loans in 2025, 66.7% went to poorer neighborhoods (low- and moderate-income, or LMI, tracts), against 19.0% at similar lenders, meaning state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans. That is higher than nearly all of them. Another 43.3% went to majority-minority neighborhoods, against 5.6%. On 30 loans the exact shares move easily, but a gap this wide would survive a few loans either way. Where it lends, around Baton Rouge, may be the reason.
