Park Side Credit Union, a Montana credit union, makes few home loans but large ones, mostly refinances, after a steep fall in volume in 2023.
Its typical loan in 2025 was $305,000, against $95,000 at similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans), larger than at nearly all of them. So although it made only 35 loans, its $10.0 million in lending was more than most of them made.
Refinances made up 68.6% of its lending and purchases 31.4%. All of its loans were conventional, with no government backing. Manufactured homes were 17.1% of its loans, while most similar lenders made none, though on 35 loans that is just a handful of borrowers.
