Mortgage300 is a Michigan-centered lender of small, often government-backed loans, and the fifth-largest lender in Flint.
It ranked 5 of 285 lenders in Flint, its largest market, with 3.4% of the dollars lent; United Wholesale Mortgage led. It has lent there since 2010. Although based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, its main state is Michigan, where it has lent since 2001.
Its typical loan was $205,000, against $305,000, the smallest among similar lenders: non-bank affiliates of holding companies making between a quarter and four times as many loans. Some 28.2% of its loans were in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods, against 18.0%, higher than about nine in ten peers. Low- and moderate-income borrowers took 37.1%, against 29.7%.
