Metropolitan Life Insurance Company is no ordinary home lender: its 25 loans in 2025 had a typical size of $45.0 million, against $152,500 at similar lenders.
Its loans totaled $1.23 billion, more than at any similar lender (an independent non-bank lender making between half and twice as many loans).
