Logan Finance, a New York non-bank lender that lends most in California, makes large conventional loans and also buys hundreds from other lenders.
Its typical loan was $525,000, against $315,000 at similar lenders (independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans), larger than at almost all of them. Jumbo loans (larger than the conforming limit) were 16.1% of its lending, against 1.2% for the typical peer. Every loan it made was conventional; it made no government-backed loans.
It bought 710 loans from other lenders in 2025, on top of the 3,056 it made itself. The typical similar lender bought none.
Only 3.7% of its borrowers were of low or moderate income (LMI), against 28.4% at the typical peer, one of the lowest shares in its group. Its large loans may explain part of that, since bigger loans tend to need bigger incomes. Yet 30.9% of its loans went to LMI neighborhoods, a higher share than at more than nine in ten similar lenders, and 46.5% to majority-minority ones.
Its lending climbed quickly from 328 loans in 2022 to 2,942 in 2024. In 2025 it rose only 4%, to 3,056, against 12% for similar lenders and 10% for the market. After so fast a climb, it may simply have settled at a steadier pace. In Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, its largest market, it ranks 30th of 757 lenders.
