Jet Direct Funding, a mortgage company in Bay Shore, New York, lending mostly to home buyers, grew 43% in 2025, much faster than similar lenders, and makes bigger loans than most of them.
Its loans rose from 342 to 488. Similar lenders, independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans, grew 2%, and the whole market 10%. Only about one in ten peers grew faster. It remains well short of the 1,387 loans it made in 2021; the record does not say why lending fell to 314 in 2023.
Its typical loan was $515,000, against $325,000 at peers, larger than about nine in ten of them. Home purchases made up 83.8% of its loans. Conventional loans rose to 82.2% from 73.1%, as loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) fell to 16.8%.
It made 36.5% of its loans in majority-minority neighborhoods, against 25.3% at peers. Only 16.3% went to low- and moderate-income borrowers, against 24.8% at peers. Its larger loans and the shift away from FHA lending are possible reasons: both point to buyers with higher incomes.
It first reported in 2014 and lent in 18 states in 2025. In the New York market, led by JPMorgan Chase Bank and Wells Fargo Bank, it ranked 116 of 802 lenders by dollars. In 2025 it made its first loans in San Jose, Vineland and Grand Rapids.
