Our analysis, 2025
EVO Home Loans, a Scottsdale non-bank lender that first reported in 2023, grew its lending by 54% in 2025, far faster than similar lenders, and most of its loans finance home purchases in Arizona.
Originations rose from 176 to 271, a rise of 54%. Similar lenders (non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans) grew 4% in the typical case and the whole market 10%. Only about one in ten similar lenders grew faster. The 2025 total is also above the 241 loans of its first year, 2023.
Purchases made up 72.3% of its loans and refinances 26.9%. Most are conventional loans, but 11.1% were guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and 3.3% by the Department of Agriculture's Rural Housing Service (RHS). The typical similar lender made no loans of either kind.
It is a minor player everywhere it lends. In Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler it ranks 144 of 879 lenders with 0.1% of the market. Its share edged up in Flagstaff, from 0.3% to 0.4%, and in Prescott Valley-Prescott, from 0.1% to 0.2%. In 2025 it made its first loans in Tucson, Yuma and Provo-Orem-Lehi.
Its typical loan, $365,000, is close to the $395,000 at similar lenders. Its typical rate, 6.88%, is a little above their 6.62%, and 2.2% of its loans were higher-priced (a rate well above the average for similar loans), against 1.6% at peers.
