A government-backed buyer's lender
Nearly all its loans, 99.5%, financed a home purchase. About half were insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and another 12.6% were guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The typical similar lender, a non-bank making between half and twice as many loans, made only conventional loans. Its typical loan, $295,000, was also smaller than theirs, at $370,000.
