Builders Choice Mortgage, a Boca Raton lender that first reported in 2023, nearly doubled its lending in 2025, to 687 loans, faster than nearly all similar lenders.
Its loans rose 94% from 355, while similar lenders (independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans) rose 1% and the whole market 10%. Its dollar volume rose in step, to $301.8 million from $155.0 million. It made 306 loans in 2023.
Some of the growth came from markets it entered in 2025. In Albuquerque it took 1.1% of the market in its first year, ranking 22 of 364 lenders, behind United Wholesale Mortgage and Waterstone Mortgage. It took 0.5% in Santa Fe and 0.4% in Valdosta. It now lends in 19 states and 62 metros.
Home purchases made up 84.3% of its loans. Loans guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) rose to 11.1% from 4.2%, against 5.7% at similar lenders. Its share of loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), 20.2%, was close to theirs.
Miami is its largest market, where it ranked 84 of 937 lenders. Majority-minority neighborhoods took 38.1% of its loans, against 25.1% at similar lenders.
