AML Funding, a Dallas home-purchase lender that first reported in 2021, grew by half in 2025, far faster than similar lenders.
The lender made 1,847 loans in 2025, up 52% on the year before. Similar lenders (independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans) grew 7% and the whole market 10%; it grew faster than nearly nine in ten of them. It had hovered between 909 and 1,217 loans a year since 2021. Purchases made up 82.2% of its loans.
Its share rose in Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands, from 0.1% to 0.2%, and in San Antonio-New Braunfels, from 0.1% to 0.3%, where it ranked 75 of 669 lenders. In Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, its home, it ranked 101 of 1,026. It also moved into Urban Honolulu, Lexington-Fayette and Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro in 2025, and now lends in 38 states.
Of its loans, 51.4% were in majority-minority neighborhoods, about double the 25.3% at peers and more than at nearly nine in ten of them. Its lending to low- and moderate-income borrowers, 32.5%, was a little higher than the 28.2% at peers.
Conventional loans made up 82.6% of its lending, against 68.1% for peers. Its typical loan, $275,000, was smaller than at most of them. Its typical rate, 6.62%, matched peers', and 2.3% of its loans were higher-priced (a rate well above the average for similar loans), against 2.2%.
