A rural, conventional lender
Every loan it made was conventional; it made none backed by the government, while similar lenders, independent non-bank lenders making between half and twice as many loans, typically had 17.5% FHA loans (insured by the Federal Housing Administration). Purchases were 74.8% of its loans and refinances the rest. Its typical loan, $225,000, was smaller than the $335,000 typical of its peers. Its largest market is non-metro Ohio, where it ranked 39 of 592 lenders.
