Big loans for a credit union
Its typical loan was $325,000, against $95,000 at similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans), larger than at nearly all of them. Refinances were 55.6% of its loans and purchases 43.4%, with almost nothing for repairs or other purposes. That is how its 99 loans came to $35.9 million, against $13.1 million for the typical peer.
