A shrinking book
Its originations fell 31% in 2025, from 103. The typical similar lender (another savings institution making between half and twice as many loans) grew 3%, and the whole market 10%. Fewer than one in ten similar lenders shrank faster. The decline is not new: the bank made 193 loans in 2021 and fewer in each year since. The bank may have chosen to lend less, or kept loans its rivals won; the figures do not say which.
