Pyramid Federal Credit Union, a Tucson credit union lending since at least 1990, is almost entirely a refinance lender, making small loans that reach poorer neighborhoods more often than similar lenders' do.
Refinances made up 92.2% of its lending in 2025 and purchases only 7.8%. Its typical loan was $65,000, against $100,000 at a typical similar lender (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans), which puts it among the lowest sixth. Every loan was conventional.
