Modest earners, not poor neighborhoods
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 45.9% of its loans in 2025, against 30.0% at a typical similar lender (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans). That is higher than nearly nine in ten of them. Yet only 9.4% of its loans went to LMI neighborhoods, against 17.3%, which puts it among the lowest sixth. That may reflect the towns it serves, which may hold few poorer neighborhoods. The neighborhood share was 18.4% a year earlier, and on fewer than 100 loans a swing of that size may reflect a handful of loans rather than a change of course.
