Piscataqua Savings Bank, a Portsmouth, New Hampshire, savings bank, makes big loans by the standards of its peers, and in 2025 its lending doubled from its 2024 low.
Its typical loan was $530,000, against $245,000 at the middle of similar lenders (savings institutions making between half and twice as many loans), larger than at more than four in five of them. Jumbo loans, those larger than the conforming limit, made up 20.6% of its lending, while the typical peer made none. Purchases were 62.5% of its loans. Every loan was conventional.
