Pathway Bank, a small Nebraska lender, made 45 home loans in 2025, 29% fewer than a year before, while similar lenders grew.
Its 45 loans were down from 63 in 2024. Similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) grew 3% and the whole market 10%, so its fall was steeper than at about nine in ten of them. Its record swings: it reported 36 loans in 2023 and 62 in 2018, and filed no report for 2020 to 2022, so one weak year says little.
Grand Island, NE is where it holds its largest share. That share fell from 1.9% to 0.9%, leaving it ranked 24 of 112. The fall in its own lending may explain much of it.
