A long decline
The bank made 177 loans in 2018 and 153 in 2020. By 2025 it made 45, down 21% from 57 a year earlier, while similar lenders, state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans, grew 3% and the whole market 10%. The figures do not say why. Less demand in its small rural footprint, or a choice to make other kinds of loans, could each explain it.
