Our analysis, 2025
GNB Bank, an Iowa bank, lends mostly to home buyers, with smaller loans than almost all similar banks and more of them to borrowers of modest means.
Purchases made up 70.1% of its 107 loans in 2025. Its typical loan, $105,000, was smaller than at more than nine in ten similar lenders (state member banks making between half and twice as many loans), where it was $175,000.
Of its borrowers, 34.2% had low or moderate incomes, against 27.1% at similar lenders, a higher share than at about three-quarters of them. A year earlier its share was 23.5%.
