A lender to poorer neighborhoods
Of its 52 loans in 2025, 55.8% went to low- and moderate-income (LMI) neighborhoods. Similar lenders, banks of the same type making between half and twice as many loans, put 18.5% there, and almost none put more. Its borrowers are not unusually poor: 25.5% had low or moderate incomes, against 27.1% at its peers. The difference lies in the neighborhoods it lends in, not the people it lends to. It also made 17.3% of its loans in majority-minority neighborhoods, against 6.3% at its peers.
