Cornerstone Credit Union is an Illinois credit union of very small loans, with manufactured homes 20.9% of its lending, and much of it goes to low- and moderate-income borrowers.
Its typical loan was $45,000, smaller than at almost all similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans), where it was $95,000. Manufactured homes took 20.9% of its loans; the typical peer made none. Home purchases made up 44.8% and home improvement 19.4%.
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 43.9% of its loans, against 31.0% at peers, higher than at about four in five. LMI areas took 31.3%, against 17.2%. It made no loans in majority-minority areas, against 9.1% at peers; the areas around Freeport and Rockford may have few of them.

It made 67 loans, 6% more than the 63 of 2024, close to its peers' rise of 7%. It filed no report for 2020 to 2022, gaps in the record rather than years without lending.
