Cornerstone Bank, a Kansas City-area bank, makes bigger loans than most similar lenders, and it made 44% more loans in 2025 than in 2024.
Its typical loan was $265,000, larger than at about four in five similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans), where it was $175,000. Jumbo loans (larger than the conforming limit) took 6.7%, against 1.6%. So with a loan count near the middle of its peers, its $51.7 million total was higher than at nearly nine in ten.

Yet LMI borrowers took only 12.5%, against 27.4%, lower than at about nine in ten. Its larger loans may go to higher-income borrowers buying or refinancing in lower-income areas.
In Kansas City, KS-MO it ranked 72 of 659 lenders with 0.3%, up from 0.2%. CommunityAmerica Federal Credit Union led. In Lawrence, KS its share rose from 0.1% to 0.6%.
