Citizens State Bank, a Texas bank spread across 18 counties, makes bigger loans than most similar lenders and raised its loan count by 18% in 2025.
Its typical loan was $210,000, against $175,000 at similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans), higher than about two-thirds of them. 8.9% of its loans were jumbo (larger than the conforming limit), against 1.6%, a higher share than nearly nine in ten.
It made 92 loans in 2025, up from 78, while similar lenders grew by 9% and the whole market by 10%. Yet its dollar lending fell to $29.1 million from $31.7 million. It filed no report for 2020 and 2021; those are gaps in the record, not years without lending.

9.8% of its loans were for manufactured homes, against 3.1% at similar lenders, more than three in four of them. Home improvement made up 10.9% of its loans and purchases 70.7%, all conventional.
