Our analysis, 2025
Artisans' Bank, a Delaware savings institution, made more loans in 2025 than a year before for the first time since 2020, a rise of 19% after years of decline.
It made 111 loans, a faster rise than at about seven in ten similar lenders (savings institutions making between half and twice as many loans). The count had fallen every year, from 402 in 2020 to 93 in 2024.
Majority-minority areas took 17.1% of its loans, against 5.6% at similar lenders, more than at about three in four of them. Five years earlier the share was 5.5%. Low- and moderate-income (LMI) areas took 16.4%, near the middle of its peers.
Its typical loan rose to $205,000 from $125,000, still below the $245,000 at peers. LMI borrowers took 19.3% of its loans, down from 36.4% in 2024. The shift toward larger loans may account for some of that, and on about a hundred loans ordinary swings from year to year may account for more.
It ranked 228 of 784 lenders in Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, where CrossCountry Mortgage led. In Dover it ranked 95 of 274 and gained 0.1 points of share; United Wholesale Mortgage led there. Home purchases made up 47.7% of its lending.
