Andover State Bank, a Kansas home-purchase lender, grew faster than most similar banks in 2025 and more than doubled its share of the Wichita market.
It made 64 loans, up 39% from 46 in 2024. Similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) grew 9%, and its growth was higher than about four in five of them. Part of the rise recovers 2024's dip: it made 73 loans in 2023.
Home purchases made up 79.7% of its loans. Its typical loan was $240,000, against $170,000 at similar lenders, higher than about three in four of them. Its lending came to $23.7 million, up from $12.4 million.
In Wichita, KS its share rose to 0.7% from 0.3%, ranking it 33 of 367 lenders; Peoples Bank and Trust Company led. It has lent there since 1990, when the public data begin. It filed no report for 2020 to 2022, a gap in the record.
Some 33.3% of its borrowers had low or moderate incomes (LMI), against 27.2% at similar lenders. Its share in LMI neighborhoods was lower, 12.5% against 18.8%. Its small footprint may explain this: it lends in 6 counties in 1 state, so the share depends on how many such neighborhoods those counties hold.
