Lending to modest incomes
Borrowers with low and moderate incomes (LMI) took 71.0% of its loans, against 31.6% at similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans). Five years earlier the share was 33.3%. Poorer neighborhoods (LMI tracts) took 28.2%, against 17.4%. Majority-minority areas took 2.6%, against 9.1%, which may reflect a footprint of eight Iowa counties.
