Resource Bank, a Louisiana lender of big loans, grew 17% in 2025 and gained share in New Orleans-Metairie and Baton Rouge.
Jumbo loans (larger than the conforming limit) were 13.2% of its lending, against 1.3% at similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans), more than at nearly all of them. Its typical loan was $235,000, against $175,000. The amount it lent rose to $87.8 million from $54.8 million.
In New Orleans-Metairie it ranks 23 of 371 lenders, and its share rose 0.4 points, to 1.0%. In Baton Rouge its share rose 0.2 points, to 0.4%. In Slidell-Mandeville-Covington, its home market, its share slipped 0.2 points, to 1.8%. That small fall may reflect growth that went to bigger markets.
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 9.4% of its loans, against 27.9% at similar lenders, among the lowest twentieth. A lender with many jumbo loans may serve mostly higher-income borrowers. Its share in poorer neighborhoods (LMI tracts), 15.9%, was near the middle of its peers, and majority-minority areas took 19.2%, against 6.5%.
Its originations rose 17%, to 193, against 10% at similar lenders and the whole market. It is still below the 284 loans it made in 2019.
