FHA loans (insured by the Federal Housing Administration) made up 10.1% of its lending, VA loans (guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs) 7.9% and RHS loans (guaranteed by the Department of Agriculture's Rural Housing Service) 1.6%. Similar lenders (state member banks making between half and twice as many loans) typically made only conventional loans. Its conventional share was lower than at nearly all of them.
