Northbrook Bank and Trust Company makes some of the largest home loans of any bank its size, and in 2025 it nearly doubled the number it made.
Its typical loan was $925,000. At similar lenders (national banks making between half and twice as many loans) it was $185,000. More than half its loans, 56.4%, were jumbo (larger than the conforming limit), against 2.1% at similar lenders. On both counts it was higher than nearly all of them.
It made 151 loans in 2025, up 96% from 77. Similar lenders grew 6% and the whole market 10%. It also bought 44 loans, where the typical similar lender bought none. It filed no report for 2020 and 2021, so those years are a gap in its record.

It lent in 17 states and 33 metros. In Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL-IN, where it has lent since at least 1990, it ranked 95 of 902. In Ogden, UT, which it entered in 2022, its share rose to 0.4%, ranking 48 of 308.
