Inwood National Bank makes far larger loans than other national banks its size, and its jumbo share about doubled in 2025 even as it made fewer loans.
Its typical loan was $415,000, against $185,000 at similar lenders (national banks making between half and twice as many loans), larger than at nearly nine in ten. Jumbo loans (larger than the conforming limit) were 15.2% of its lending, up from 7.5%; peers' figure was 2.1%. Its dollar volume rose to $127.8 million from $88.4 million while its count fell from 182 to 173.
Loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) were 4.6% and those guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) 2.3%; similar lenders typically made none. Its typical rate, 6.49%, was lower than at more than four in five similar lenders.
It ranks 124 of 1,026 lenders in Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, where it has lent since at least 1990. Its share rose to 0.3% in Waco and to 0.1% in Tyler and Wichita Falls. It made 1,199 loans five years earlier, far more than now; these figures do not show why.
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 16.9% of its loans, against 24.7%, which its larger loans could explain. LMI areas took 20.8%, against 15.4%, and majority-minority areas 23.1%, against 7.0%. That may reflect the markets it serves.
