Fewer loans, more dollars
It made 133 loans, down 20% from 166. Similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) grew 10%, as did the whole market, and its growth was lower than about nine in ten of them. Yet its lending rose to $46.0 million from $38.4 million, because its typical loan rose to $235,000 from $195,000. Larger purchase loans, which made up 55.6% of its lending, may be one reason.
