Corda Credit Union, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, grew its lending 37% in 2025, faster than about four in five similar lenders, and gained share in its home market.
It made 272 loans, while similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans) grew 6%. The amount it lent rose to $40.3 million from $27.4 million. Its lending is still below the 637 loans of 2020 and 790 of 2021.
In Cedar Rapids, where it has lent since at least 1990, its share rose to 2.0% from 1.8%, ranking 14 of 210. In Iowa City its share rose to 0.5% from 0.1%. GreenState Credit Union leads both markets.
Low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers took 41.1% of its loans, against 27.6% at similar lenders, higher than at about nine in ten of them. Its share in LMI neighborhoods, 18.1%, was a little above their 16.1%.
It turned down 1.5% of first-lien home-purchase applications for owner-occupied homes, against 7.7% at the typical similar lender, lower than at about nine in ten. Purchases were 58.8% of its loans and refinances 41.2%. Its typical rate, 6.75%, was near their 6.88%.
