Citizens State Bank is the eighth-largest lender in Eau Claire, and in 2025 it grew 24% and lent to low- and moderate-income (LMI) borrowers more than most similar banks.
In Eau Claire, WI, which it has served since at least 1990, it ranked 8 of 220 lenders with 2.2% of lending, up from 1.7%. Royal Credit Union led there. In Wausau, WI its share fell to 0.2% from 0.4%, possibly as more of its lending went to Eau Claire.
Its originations rose 24%, from 101 to 125, more than at about seven in ten similar lenders (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans), which grew 9%. The count remains well below the 425 of 2020.
