BNC National Bank made 8,389 loans in 2020 and 121 in 2025; what remains is a small lender, mainly in North Dakota, making loans for purposes other than buying a home.
In 2020 it made 8,389 loans worth $2.95 billion, 36.9% of them VA loans (guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs). Its count fell to 1,139 in 2023 and 113 in 2024. The figures do not say why; it may have closed or scaled back the business that made those VA loans.

Low- and moderate-income (LMI) neighborhoods took 5.8% of its loans, against 15.5% at similar lenders, among the lowest twentieth. The places it now serves, mainly Bismarck and non-metro North Dakota, are one possible reason. LMI borrowers took 25.2%, near the middle.
In Bismarck it ranked 15 of 145 lenders, with 1.5% of the market, up 0.1 points; Gate City Bank leads. Its loans rose 7% in 2025, against 3% at similar lenders.
